Social Media Marketing Areas of Emphasis

Social Media

A strong presence on social media networks by receiving as much traffic from social media as from search engines.  An active social media program is fast becoming a required element of any program for increasing traffic and spreading your message.

An internet-based tool that allows groups to engage in peer-to-peer conversations and exchange content – including video, audio, text, and multimedia, which is then published and shared in a social media environment.

Social media is a new and innovative way to create dialogue and receive useful feedback utilizing such platforms as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Blogs, Email and Flickr.

Companies can create their own brand-focused community that allows for user-generated content.  When effective it enhances the appeal and quality of your website by providing a more interactive experience for visitors.

Social media sites provide the ability to steer consumers to your website, send targeted messages, establish credibility, and establish an open line of communication.  These facets help to create a mutually beneficial relationship for both brands and consumers.

These services ultimately help you incorporate social media into an effective marketing campaign which encompasses the planning, listening, understanding, engaging and monitoring of your company's social media accounts.

Social Media Site Creation & Management

Facebook Fan Page

Facebook is the 3rd most trafficked site on the Internet with over 300 million members with an average age of 35 and 120 millions mobile users who are twice as active.

Creating a Fan Page is simple, but truly utilizing it to its fullest potential takes some guidance.

A Fan Page allows a business to visualize and build a community, similar to Twitter.  However, unlike Twitter, you can add and customize a great deal more.

At the very least a business should update their Fan Page “status” to keep consumers informed and engaged.  A more advanced technique would be to add things like coupons or Google maps directions to the storefront.  These kinds of resources give consumers a reason to visit the Page and interact with the brand.

Twitter Account

Twitter boasts 50 million users and over 300 million members.  Everyone is talking about Twitter.

Why is it such a big deal? Simple: it connects you with your consumers in real-time via the web, desktop applications, and even mobile.  Finding a way to offer value while humanizing the business can lead to a stronger following and increased word of mouth marketing.

With Twitter, business owners are able to cater to their consumer’s needs instantaneously.  In a world where everything needs to be done yesterday, a quick response can create a lifelong customer.

Services include set-up of account, customization of page, and streamlining of posts.

Online Videos

Stay relevant in a viral fashion with syndication to YouTube, Viddler, Metacafe and other platforms to promote to targeted audiences.

Online videos help to engage audiences by providing rich calls-to-action including community, features, quizzes, surveys, RSS feed links, and clicks to site.

Additionally, online videos allow for intricate analytics that detail number of views, track audience engagement rates, and report on increased site traffic.

Custom Wiki

A custom wiki is website or similar online resource which allows users to add and edit content effectively.  It allows you to take advantage of a phenomenon called crowdsourcing.  In other words, use your customers to give information to other consumers.

Creating a wiki for your FAQ or Customer Service knowledge base lets your consumers enter the problems they’ve had via a public forum (the wiki), and provide your responses publicly as well.  Although showing problems may seem backwards, it’s a very effective way to retain customers and generate new sales.

Consumers aren’t stupid, they know that mistakes happen.  Instead, they want to see that their questions will be answered quickly.  Also, with a public wiki, customers can see if a concern has already been addressed, saving time for both you and the customer.

With minimal moderation, a wiki can build trust in your business and make your customer service more efficient.
